She Crashed My Pity Party

If you read my previous toe post you will understand why I was feeling sorry for myself on Tuesday: My toe hurt. I couldn't go anywhere. The pain pills made me nauseous and too drowsy to bead. I was having a lovely pity party. And then I glanced out the slider door to where my hummingbird feeder hangs. I had put it out days ago and not one single hummer had stopped by. (This also depressed me.) But then it happened. A sweet little hummer flitted onto the feeder. She even posed while I got myself up, hobbled to grab my camera and snap her picture.

Even on the worst of days God causes good things.

She crashed my pity party!

PS: Re-packed and bandaged The Toe last night and again this morning. It's healing well, but I'd like to teach the surgeon how to make smaller, more precise and prettier stitches.

That's so neat! I haven't tried to attract hummingbirds ever since we had a cat that used to catch them. That's when I quit putting my feeder out. It would be nice to do so again!

You're lucky he didn't put staples in it. I swear they staple everything these days.

Wow, that must have been one quick kitty! If the cat is gone try putting the feeder out again. Hummers are so fascinating!

She was a little angle/hummer! I'm having a pity party too...I've a chest cold which means no running and my "Run For The Critters" is 16 days away! I need a hummer/angel over here...

I love hummingbirds. We never see them in Chicago, but we see them once in awhile at the lake house.
